History
of DF Young
In 1903, DF Young helped American manufacturers
get their goods to market by horse and cart. Daniel Young opened
a single office to handle import and export ocean shipments. Today,
DF Young paves the way for international shipments clear across continents,
using the most sophisticated air, sea and land transportation services
available. Each move is backed by state-of-the-art technology and
Internet access that spans the globe.
DF Young is a wholly U.S.-owned Corporation operating as a Custom
House Broker, Ocean Transportation Intermediary and Foreign Freight
Forwarder (Federal Maritime Commission License Number 656-R and CHB
License 1259) since 1903.
In its storied history, DF Young has operated under only 4 different
presidents and has shared long term business relationships with several
of our customers, some dating over 50 years.
General freight forwarding and customs clearance have always been
our primary service offerings over the years. We have always had
a strong expertise in working with the automotive industry and the
petrochemical industry as well as boasted a strong dedication and
effort in shipping humanitarian relief cargo and food.
As the need for increased services from our customers increased,
so did we increase our offerings and capabilities. This includes
opening offices closer to our customers, providing warehouse space
developing tracking and reporting systems and offering customers
in-house IT support and development.
As DF Young moves forward, we have been seeking ways to be the customer's
complete logistics support company, continually working with the
customer to solve their supply chain management needs.
As DF Young enters into its second century of doing business, we
see no cause of slowing up now.
