We are currently seeking a Traffic Coordinator with the opportunity for development in international logistics to join our team of professionals in Auburn Hills, MI.

 

Job Summary:

Seeking a detail-oriented Traffic Coordinator to manage and optimize vehicle shipment logistics across North America, focusing on coordinating ocean carrier bookings, trucking arrangements, and vessel forecasting. The ideal candidate will ensure timely deliveries, maintain strong communication with carriers and ports, and resolve shipment issues proactively.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare weekly agenda to present to international markets using vehicle production and vessel forecasts for exports from US, & Mexico
  • Coordinate and secure ocean carrier bookings with contracted vessel carriers; arrange trucking logistics from plant to port and between ports as needed
  • Monitor vessel schedules, port inventories, and shipment statuses to meet market deadlines and resolve delays
  • Communicate with carriers, ports, and internal teams to align schedules and address shipment issues
  • Manage alternative carrier sourcing, spot buy shipments, and billing reconciliation
  • Investigate damaged or delayed units, escalate issues, and ensure compliance with market requests
  • Compile reports, scorecards, and documentation related to shipment performance and market need
  • Tack and expedite priority shipments as advised by the market to ensure timely delivery
  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements – Education and Experience / Skills and Abilities:

  • 2 years experience in ocean export/import (container and RoRo).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multitasking capabilities.
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.

 

 

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • IMDG certified.
  • Knowledge of ATA Carnets
  • Experience working with AS400 system.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008
