Forwarding
Freight forwarding is DF Young 's middle name. With over 90
years of experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage
and international logistics, DF Young has earned its reputation
as a sole-source provider of transportation and distribution
solutions. A complete menu of inland, ocean freight, air freight
and international destination services are available. We are
an Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) focusing on creating
solutions that exceed customer expectations.
DF Young has an expert team of individuals recognized by the
National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America,
Inc. as "Certified Ocean Forwarders." Their qualifications
include many years in the industry as well as passage of a rigorous
exam administered by the NCBFAA.
Forwarding services include:
Transportation Management
DF Young is responsible for the selection, coordination and
monitoring of service providers and agents that may be engaged
on the client's behalf, such as vessel operators, motor carriers,
piers, etc. All communications are professionally handled, and
information is readily accessible at any time.
Export Documentation
The issuance, submission, retrieval and transmittal of all documentation
required ( See Documentation section for more details).
Other Documentation
This may include Foreign Collection/Letter of Credit services
and documentation; Legalization of export documents with Consulates
or Chambers of Commerce; SGS Government Inspection services;
and hazardous materials handling requirements.
Hazardous Materials Shipments
DF Young's staff is fully trained to handle all aspects of
shipments of Hazardous Materials. The company is registered with
the U.S. Department of Transportation and I.A.T.A. as "HAZMAT" shippers.
Obtaining Export Licenses
DFY handles all requirements to obtain U.S. Department of Commerce
and Department of State Export Licenses, and is registered with
the Office of Defense Trade Control at the U.S. State Department
in Washington, D.C.
Banking Services
Consultation in opening and negotiation of International Letters
of Credit in addition to reconciling drafts.
All risk marine insurance
is available.
Fully licensed and bonded, DF Young handles documentation preparation,
scheduling and routing of cargoes, and the preparation of all
clearances in advance of arrival to ease delivery at destination.
Dedicated account managers, along with an experienced traffic
department, work continuously on behalf of the client to arrange
timely, cost-effective ocean shipments worldwide.
