Corporate Policy Statement
DF Young, Inc. is committed to uphold the highest standards with regard to Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S). We are committed to complying with relevant EHS&S legal requirements and other voluntary requirements to which we subscribe, upholding the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care® . These principles are applied to all aspects of our operations and are measured through performance metrics. Our policy is designed to promote continual improvement, including:
Management Commitment: The entire organization from the President/CEO and upper management, down to the warehouse facility, has committed to a Responsible Care Management System® in accordance with RC14001® . This internationally recognized standard provides the framework to achieve our goals, including a commitment to the prevention of pollution and continual EHS&S improvement.
Training and Communication: Employees understand their EHS&S responsibilities. We are continually trained and certified to competently perform assignments. We promote openness and communication with stakeholders, including customers, employees, vendors and the public.
Security and Emergency Preparedness: Security and emergency preparedness are vital functions of management, supervisors and employees at all levels. We maintain emergency plans to protect stakeholders in and around our facilities, the environment and our corporate resources.
Audits and Review: Accountability for EHS&S performance is measured, monitored and evaluated. This is done through audits and review at appropriate intervals. Checks of actual performance are measured against the company’s objectives and targets. A system exists to plan and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Risk Assessment and Reduction: Management of risk is fundamental to safe operations and services. We systematically identify potential hazards, assess their relative significance and develop measures to reduce risks.
