DF Young, Inc. announces that it has become a partner in the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care ® Program effective February 25, 2009.
Responsible Care ® is the chemical industry initiative to protect the environment and continuously improve performance related to environment, health, safety and security (EHS&S). With the focus on our stakeholders, employees, contractors, customers and community members, DF Young, Inc pledges to operate our business in accordance with the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care ®.
As a third party logistics provider DF Young, Inc. joins the nearly 200 member companies and their vendors in fostering the safe and secure transport and distribution of their products throughout the supply chain. The ACC member’s represent approximately eighty five to ninety percent of the U.S. chemical production by volume in approximately two thousand domestic facilities. The Responsible Care ® initiative is operating globally in over 52 countries.
DF Young’s corporate policy is in accordance with the RC14001 ® specifications. This progressive philosophy mandates companies to both protect the welfare of its employees and the surrounding communities. By making this commitment to Responsible Care ® and all it entails, DF Young, Inc. is demonstrating its commitment to pro-active improvement across its business. We have taken a leadership position in having a positive impact throughout the supply chain. The RC14001 ® management system ensures that DF Young, Inc. is among the industry leaders as we collectively play a part in a global initiative to guarantee environmental stewardship, safe working practices, healthy employees, secured facilities and a positive interaction with the community.
